Statuesque: nine companions, and the rooms that suit their height
Nine companions from 172 cm to 178 cm, every height checked in person at the desk. Height changes the frame of an evening more than people expect: how a lobby reads when she walks in, how a long coat hangs, how a photograph composes itself against steel and glass. Each of the nine is used to being the tallest person at a table and wears it lightly.

Under stone and gilt
Samanta, 174 cm, a violinist's posture, loves a beautifully run building and dines in the old banking hall off Poultry among the green columns, pointing out details between courses. Karolina, 174 cm, black hair kept sleek, would rather sit under the Barbican's concrete for a concert, having walked the lakeside terraces first.

Low ceilings, late hours
Angelika, 172 cm, heads underground to a low-lit jazz basement on City Road. Violetta, whose 178 cm tops the gallery, chooses a small Spitalfields bookshop and then a corner table. Stacy, 176 cm and happiest in flat boots, swaps ceilings for the graffiti-layered undercroft of the South Bank, camera in hand.
Shoes, and the plan behind them
Shoes follow the venue. A Barbican concert or a long walk along Bankside means flats or a low heel; a banking hall dinner or a hotel bar may mean something taller. Say where you are going when you write, and she picks shoes to suit the floor she will be standing on.

A taller companion alters the picture: her reflection in a black glass tower, the mirror in a hotel lift, a long coat that finally falls to the right length. The terms stay put. Six of the nine appear under slim and slender, four under raven haired, and Michelle and Milena under curvaceous. Patricia is the only auburn name here, Vanessa, Samanta, Stacy and Michelle the brunettes. Eight of the nine are in their twenties; Violetta is the one in her thirties, and the tallest.
Airports and formal tables
Height reads well at a black tie dinner and in a departure lounge. A travel companion or a formal evening is requested exactly like an hour: her name, the date, the place. Longer arrangements simply want more notice, and the quote comes back on WhatsApp before anything is fixed. A Heathrow or Gatwick run is never shorter than three hours, because the ride out sits inside the booking.
