Shoreditch escorts, EC2A and E1. The night starts later here.

Shoreditch keeps later hours than the City it borders. Ten minutes' walk north of Liverpool Street, the offices give way to warehouses, galleries, record shops and rooftop bars, and an evening that would be winding down at eleven in the Square Mile is only getting going here. This page covers the hotels, the stations and walking minutes, how long a companion takes and who comes out east.

Areas

Warehouses, painted walls and rooftops

Shoreditch High Street, Great Eastern Street and Old Street form a rough triangle, and inside it almost every wall is painted. Redchurch Street holds small shops and restaurants, Hoxton Square keeps its bars around a patch of green, and Boxpark stacks food stalls in shipping containers beside the Overground station. On a Sunday, Columbia Road fills with flower sellers and Brick Lane with market stalls.

The best rooms here are high up. Several hotels have rooftop bars with the City towers lit to the south, and the view from a Shoreditch terrace at eleven is one of London's finest. Nobody dresses formally, but everybody dresses deliberately.

At the far end of the night, Brick Lane's bagel bakery keeps its counter open around the clock, and at three in the morning its queue is the most democratic room in London: suits, chefs, cab drivers and people still in their party clothes. It is a very Shoreditch way to end an evening, if the evening goes that long.

Areas

Who books in the creative quarter

Guests here tend to work in technology, design, media or fashion, or to be visiting people who do. Founders in town for investor meetings around Old Street. Agency people at the end of a shoot. Visitors who chose Shoreditch over the West End on purpose. They book late, enjoy conversation and want a companion who fits a rooftop bar rather than a grand hotel lobby. The room matters less to them than the talk, and the talk tends to run on.

Areas

Five hotels between Old Street and the High Street

Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch is on Willow Street, sleek and low-lit, with its restaurant on the lower floor. The Hoxton, Shoreditch, on Great Eastern Street, was the first of its name and still has one of the liveliest lobbies in the area. citizenM London Shoreditch sits on Holywell Lane with a rooftop bar, and Hart Shoreditch Hotel is on Shoreditch High Street itself. To the west, Montcalm Royal London House on Finsbury Square has a rooftop bar of its own.

Guests stay at these hotels; none has any arrangement with us, and we mention them purely as addresses. Warehouse flats and short-let apartments are just as common here, and she goes to those on identical terms.

Areas

The Overground, the Northern line, and her journey

Shoreditch High Street, on the London Overground, is two minutes from the heart of the district. Old Street, on the Northern line, is eight minutes north west at the roundabout. Liverpool Street, nine minutes south, adds five more lines, the Elizabeth line among them.

She comes by cab through the City or along City Road. Traffic around the High Street slows on Friday and Saturday nights, so allow a little extra then; on other nights expect her within the hour of confirmation. Being Zone 1, Shoreditch carries no travel charge.

In Shoreditch the lobby is often a bar, and nobody notices who walks in. She finds you where you said you would be, or comes up if you have given the room number. She dresses for the district: sharp, relaxed, never overdone, the sort of outfit that looks right on a rooftop and in a lift.

Areas

A Shoreditch night, from the rooftop down

Ten o'clock on a Thursday. A guest at citizenM has just come back from a product launch and wants the evening to carry on. Three hours at £700, starting at half past ten. She arrives dressed for a rooftop, and they take the lift up to the bar for the view, then walk to a late kitchen off Redchurch Street for small plates at the counter. After one, the room, and the particular quiet that Shoreditch only finds at that hour.

For a slower start, four hours at £900 makes room for a proper meal first. Brat, upstairs on Redchurch Street, cooks over open fire and is worth booking ahead; after it, the rooftops are a short walk away and still busy.

Areas

Companions for the East End, and the districts nearby

Molly, Tiffany and Jasmin live in Soho, a straight run east through Clerkenwell at night. Nancy, Tina and Karolina come from Covent Garden. Every other companion is in the gallery and will make the journey too.

Liverpool Street is nine minutes' walk south, and the City of London begins just beyond it. Aldgate is fifteen minutes south east, past Spitalfields.

Q · Questions

Shoreditch, answered

Any time. The desk works around the clock, and bookings that start at midnight or later are entirely normal in this district.

Yes. Give the desk the bar and the hour; the booking clock starts when she walks in. The rooftops at Montcalm Royal London House and citizenM are both easy meeting points.

Three hours is £700 and two hours is £500. Rates do not rise after midnight, and travel within Zone 1 is included.

Yes, on the same terms as hotels. Send the address and the name you are staying under, and the desk confirms both once.

Yes, both, along with the rest of EC2A, E1 and the edge of E2. The rates do not change.

Whatever you would wear anywhere in Shoreditch after dark. She matches the setting, and if the venue has a dress code she checks it with the desk before she sets off.
