The overnight is ten hours with one companion for £1,800. Dinner first, or straight upstairs
Both work. A night that opens at a table gives the evening a shape and gives you both a couple of hours to settle into each other's company before the hotel. A night that begins in the room suits a guest who has eaten already, or who arrives on a late train and wants nothing more than a quiet drink and good company. Rooms that suit a whole night
A night is a different booking from an hour, and the room matters more. Guests who plan ahead often choose one facing the river: Shangri-La The Shard and Sea Containers London both look straight over the water, and The Tower Hotel sits right beside the bascules of Tower Bridge. In the City, The Ned and the Four Seasons at Ten Trinity Square are built for long stays behind heavy doors. Breakfast in the room is worth ordering the evening before. None of these hotels has any link with the desk; they are simply good places to spend a long night.
The morning
The ten hours run from the moment she arrives, so a night that starts at eight ends around six the following morning, and one that starts at ten runs until eight, in good time for breakfast. Mention an early train from London Bridge Station or a nine o'clock meeting and the start is set around it. She leaves quietly, dressed as she came, and nobody from the desk contacts you afterwards.

Moving or cancelling a night
An overnight follows the standard terms. Cancel or move it three or more hours ahead and nothing is owed; within the final two hours, half becomes due; and a door left unanswered costs the whole ten hours.
